As I discussed in my last post, the body has everything it needs to heal from within. When you bring the body back into homeostasis, you allow the cells to communicate with each other and the body can heal itself.
This is compatible with the original Osteopathic Principles set forth by the founder of Osteopathy, Andrew Taylor Still, M.D.; and is consistent with all of the modalities I use in my office:
1) The unity of the Body
The healing power of nature.
The body has within itself, all the things necessary for the maintenance of and recovery from disease.
3) The interrelationship between structure and function:
Structure governs function
Function influences structure
4) The musculoskeletal system is an integral part of the total body and alterations within the musculoskeletal system affects total body health and the ability of the body to recover from injury and disease.
